Folsom Fitness Expert Val Fujii Reveals Fundamental Food Values To Help With Childhood Obesity
Folsom fitness expert and boot camp instructor, Val Fujii, shares fundamental food values to help with childhood obesity.

FOLSOM, CA, March 03, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Folsom fitness expert and owner of Superwomen Boot Camp, Val Fujii, wants to help bring awareness to one of America's major health problems - childhood obesity. Even though it is getting rapidly worse, he believes that if we all work together, we have the power to halt the obesity epidemic.

"Nearly one in three American children are obese or overweight", Fujii says. "This has to do not only with what our kids eat at home, but what they are served at lunch while in school. We need to start with focusing on replacing junk, snacks and processed food with freshly cooked nutritious meals - both in schools and at home. This may take a bit a patience and planning, but in the end you will notice a difference in the health of your children as well as improved concentration in the classroom."

Here are some food values that can be applied both in school and at home:

1. Serve fresh food. Empty your freezers and fill your fridges. Make fresh, raw ingredients the basis of your meals.
2. Check ingredients. Make a point of always knowing what is in the food that you serve. Remember, real food, cooked fresh, doesn't need additives, preservatives or anything artificial. Processed food is often full of these things.
3. Don't offer junk food as a snack. Kids who eat chips and candy and drink soda every day instead of having a good meal don't get the nutrition they need to grow and learn properly. It also sets them on a fast track to health problems later on in life.

Keep these values in mind when planning your next trip to the grocery store. And remember to take the time to keep yourself healthy and fit by attending Superwomen Boot Camp. Sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at our Folsom location, and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. at our new Sacramento location.
